Genesis 26

Genesis 26:35 Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac & to Rebekah.

Genesis 26:34 & Esau was forty years old when Esau took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite & Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

Genesis 26:33 & Isaac called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.

Genesis 26:32 & it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, & told Isaac concerning the well which they had digged & said unto Isaac, We have found water.

Genesis 26:31 & they rose up betimes in the morning & sware one to another: & Isaac sent them away & they departed from Isaac in peace.

Genesis 26:30 & Isaac made them a feast & they did eat & drink.

Genesis 26:29 That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, & as we have done unto thee nothing but good & have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.

Genesis 26:28 & they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: & we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us & thee & let us make a covenant with thee;

Genesis 26:27 & Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me & have sent me away from you?

Genesis 26:26 Then Abimelech went to Isaac from Gerar & Ahuzzath one of his friends & Phichol the chief captain of his army.

Genesis 26:25 & Isaac builded an altar there & called upon the name of the LORD & pitched his tent there: & there Isaac's servants digged a well.

Genesis 26:24 & the LORD appeared unto Isaac the same night & said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee & will bless thee, & multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

Genesis 26:23 & Isaac went up from thence to Beersheba.

Genesis 26:22 & Isaac removed from thence & digged another well; & for that they strove not: & Isaac called the name of it Rehoboth; & Isaac said, For now the LORD hath made room for us & we shall be fruitful in the land.

Genesis 26:21 & Isaac's servants digged another well & strove for that also: & Isaac called the name of it Sitnah.

Genesis26:20 & the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: & Isaac called the name of the well Esek; because the herdmen of Gerar strove with Isaac.

Genesis26:19 & Isaac's servants digged in the valley & found there a well of springing water.

Genesis 26:18 & Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham Isaac's father; for the Philistines had stopped the wells of water after the death of Abraham: & Isaac called their names after the names by which Isaac's father had called the wells of water.

Genesis 26:17 & Isaac departed thence & pitched Isaac's tent in the valley of Gerar & dwelt there.

Genesis 26:16 & Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.

Genesis 26:15 For all the wells which Isaac's father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped all the wells & filled all the wells with earth.

Genesis 26:14 For Isaac had possession of flocks & possession of herds & great store of servants: & the Philistines envied Isaac.

Genesis 26:13 & the man waxed great & went forward & grew until Isaac became very great:

Genesis 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land & received in the same year an hundredfold: & the LORD blessed Isaac.

Genesis 26:11 & Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

Genesis 26:10 & Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife & thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.

Genesis 26:9 & Abimelech called Isaac & said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: & how saidst thou, She is my sister? & Isaac said unto Abimelech, Because I said, Lest I die for Rebekah.

Genesis 26:8 & it came to pass, when Isaac had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window & saw & behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah Isaac's wife.

Genesis 26:7 & the men of the place asked Isaac of his wife; & Isaac said, Rebekah is my sister: for Isaac feared to say, Rebekah is my wife; lest, said Isaac, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because Rebekah was fair to look upon.

Genesis 26:6 & Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice & kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes & my laws.

Genesis 26:4 & I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven & will give unto thy seed all these countries; & in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Genesis 26:3 Sojourn in this land & I will be with thee & will bless thee; for unto thee & unto thy seed, I will give all these countries & I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;

Genesis 26:2 & the LORD appeared unto Isaac & said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

Genesis 26:1 & there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. & Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

1 & there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. & Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. 2 & the LORD appeared unto Isaac & said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3 Sojourn in this land, & I will be with thee & will bless thee; for unto thee & unto thy seed, I will give all these countries & I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 & I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven & will give unto thy seed all these countries; & in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice & kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes & my laws. 6 & Isaac dwelt in Gerar: 7 & the men of the place asked Isaac of Isaac's wife; & Isaac said, Rebekah is my sister: for Isaac feared to say, Rebekah is my wife; lest, said Isaac, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because Rebekah was fair to look upon. 8 & it came to pass, when Isaac had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window & saw, & behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. 9 & Abimelech called Isaac & said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: & how saidst thou, She is my sister? & Isaac said unto Abimelech, Because I said, Lest I die for Rebekah. 10 & Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife & thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us. 11 & Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death. 12 Then Isaac sowed in that land & received in the same year an hundredfold: & the LORD blessed Isaac. 13 & the man waxed great & went forward & grew until Isaac became very great: 14 For Isaac had possession of flocks & possession of herds & great store of servants: & the Philistines envied Isaac. 15 For all the wells which Isaac's father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham Isaac's father, the Philistines had stopped all the wells, and filled all the wells with earth. 16 & Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. 17 & Isaac departed thence & pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar & dwelt there. 18 & Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham Isaac's father; for the Philistines had stopped the wells of water after the death of Abraham: & Isaac called the wells of water names after the names by which Isaac's father had called the wells of water. 19 & Isaac's servants digged in the valley & found there a well of springing water. 20 & the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: & Isaac called the name of the well Esek; because the herdmen of Gerar strove with Isaac. 21 & Isaac's servants digged another well & strove for that also: & Isaac called the name of it Sitnah. 22 & Isaac's removed from thence & digged another well; & for that they strove not: & Isaac called the name of it Rehoboth; & Isaac said, For now the LORD hath made room for us & we shall be fruitful in the land. 23 & Isaac went up from thence to Beersheba. 24 & the LORD appeared unto Isaac the same night & said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee & will bless thee & multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake. 25 & Isaac builded an altar there & called upon the name of the LORD & pitched his tent there: & there Isaac's servants digged a well. 26 Then Abimelech went to Isaac from Gerar & Ahuzzath one of his friends & Phichol the chief captain of his army. 27 & Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me & have sent me away from you? 28 & they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: & we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us & thee & let us make a covenant with thee; 29 That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee & as we have done unto thee nothing but good & have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD. 30 & Isaac made them a feast & they did eat & drink. 31 & they rose up betimes in the morning, & sware one to another: & Isaac sent them away & they departed from him in peace. 32 & it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came & told Isaac concerning the well which they had digged & said unto Isaac, We have found water. 33 & Isaac called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day. 34 & Esau was forty years old when Esau took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite & Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: 35 Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac & to Rebekah.
